A new restaurant to the area, the Twin Arch Tavern offers a wide selection of upscale culinary delights, including a hearty weekend brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Although it’s a new restaurant, its proprietors are not new to the restaurant scene, with family roots in a few of the other local restaurants in the area. The Tavern sports a full bar and a world-class, friendly wait staff.

Downtown Mount Airy

This historic downtown area was built up from the expansion of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in the late 1800’s. View the downtown map for a directory of shops, salons, and eateries. Mackenzie, our resident caboose and the Mt. Airy Museum are must sees!
Make an appointment in advance for a tour of W.R. Rudy’s Country Store & Drugstore Museum and walk the Rail Trail.

Watkins Park

Walk from downtown Mount Airy to Watkins Park along the Rails 2 Trails Walking Path. It’s a quarter mile walk through blasted rock along the old railroad right-of-way. Year-round charm includes the one-mile walking trail, basketball court, playgrounds with swing set, large pavilion, tennis courts, volleyball court, and sports fields. It’s also home to a new inclusive playground! Across the street is Knill’s Farm Market, open May to October with fresh produce.

Mt. Airy Lanes

Mt. Airy Lanes is a great place for family-fun! This duckpin bowling alley often has a great coupon on their website for a free game. Who doesn’t love a fun afternoon or evening of bowling? Mt. Airy Lanes is now offering a wide menu for carryout, too! Rock and Bowl is on Saturday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Linganore Winecellars

Experience 20 acres of peaceful vista views while relaxing at Linganore Winecellars in Frederick County. It’s the perfect place to visit during any season with fire tables available by reservation.
