Mark Your Calendars for These Upcoming Events in Maryland
One of the best ways to soak up the character of our state is by attending a festival. Plan your travels around these upcoming summer events in Maryland, and get ready for sunny days ahead!
Strawberry Festival—Sandy Spring
June 11th – 12th
It’s amazing how some of our favorite foods can be associated with our fondest memories. The Sandy Spring Museum celebrates this specific joy by bringing family fun, food, and community together for their annual Strawberry Festival. Alongside food trucks and a beer garden, you can enjoy strawberries freshly picked, baked in desserts, and blended into drinks.
The festival grounds will also offer a petting zoo, face painters, and carnival games. You can purchase a single entry and family tickets online ahead of time for discounts.
Annapolis Juneteenth Celebration—Annapolis
Juneteenth festivals take place across the USA to remember the emancipation of the last enslaved Africans in Galveston, Texas. As a celebration of freedom, the Annapolis Juneteenth Celebration honors the culture, community, and contributions of Black and African American Marylanders. The day will begin with a parade full of local talent and organizations followed by a festival with live music and performances. An array of foods and vendors from across the African diaspora will be available for purchase.

Here you will experience over 60 local visual artist and vendor pop-up tents, as well as live music performances on the festival stage. The entire festival is free to attend and you can simultaneously enjoy all the foods and drinks of the Guinness Open Gate Brewery.
Wine & Food Festival—Lutherville-Timonium
The Timonium Fairgrounds is home to many summer events including the Wine & Food Festival. On June 25th, your purchased ticket gets you access to 100+ food, beer, and wine samples served in a garden party environment. Local vineyards and breweries will be participating, as well as Baltimore’s best food trucks. If you’re especially excited for this event, consider purchasing a VIP ticket.
Bonus tip: Plan an overnight weekend trip and attend both the Wine & Food Festival and the Arts & Drafts Summer Music & Arts Festival mentioned above for a fun-filled weekend.
Fourth of July—Ocean City
Ocean City offers activities and experiences for all ages that can be found across its boardwalks, resorts, and miles of ocean-facing sandy beaches.
For the 4th of July, Ocean City will have not one, but two firework show locations to choose from. You can find the firework schedule here. Seeing a firework display over the ocean is sure to make for a favorite 4th of July memory for all members of the family.
